PA66 spunbond nonwoven's excellent termal stability bring more resilient and durable properties in high and lowe temperature applications with a melting point of around 260 degrees Centigrade (500 degrees Fahrenheit) to maintain the stable shape, longer products service life.
Compare to PA6, PA66 has the higher melting point, higher strength and better toughness up to double of PA6 when absorbs water (but not as much as PA6) which causes swelling and an increase in toughness (up to double). When producing PA66 profiles account must be taken of this moisture absorption as it affects dimensional tolerances. For every 1% water absorbed the size increases approximately 0.3 %.
