Nonwovens for Separating Oil Contaminates from Oil-in-Water Emulsions
Oil spill is a big problem for the earth and living life. It brings bad contaminations. The most outstanding properties of PA6 and PA66 spunbond nonwoven are hydrophilic and oleophilic. Characteristics make spunbond PA6 and PA66 nonwoven a promising material for oily water remediation and purification. In this study, a polyamide-based spunbond fabric when used in a separation system for oil-in-water emulsions effectively removes approximately 99% of high viscosity oil from an oil-in-water emulsion while absorbing more than 100% of its weight in both high and low viscosity oils. We hypothesize a mechanism by which nylon spunbond fabric separates oil from water.

PA6 and PA66 spunbond nonwoven's excellent termal stability bring more resilient and durable properties in high and low temperature applications with a melting point of around 260 degrees Centigrade (500 degrees Fahrenheit) to maintain the stable shape, longer products service life.
